tell me ,thanks guys

it was really a combination of a few things...front shocks, gt thunder link and re-valve, and a steering stabilizer. they made me so much faster than the pipe, filter, re-jet.

Suspension. Pipe and stuff second to that.

The nerfs and pegs. I have the DG pro pegs and they sit a little lower than stock. I like that, and they are much much wider and longer. I just feel more comfortable with em.

nerfbars are deffinately the most important thing to have. Plus it looks better

I'd have to say performance wise it was the 440 kit. But the nerfs have definatley saved me from breakin my legs a few times :p

my 440 big bore kit. my worst upgrade was my works shocks i spent alot on them and they work like crap, i wish i would have spent alittle more and got TCS.

most effective bang for my buck was also my 440 kit. simple upgrade yet very effective! second to that was the front shocks. anything up there is better then stock... i have the works shocks but Bob Bell @ Precision Concepts had his hands in em already and work 10 times better then how works sets em up!!

I also have a 440ex and I would have to say that a full exuast and jetting should be first. Then nerfbars. Then anything else. I don't know how much other people spent on having there 400ex into a 440, but mine was over $1700. But I had to buy a new cyclinder head and all the valves and good stuff that goes with it.

i second those choices, but i'll add my bars for comfort and hand guards for protection. they have saved my hands countless times.

So far for me I think nerfs.

deffinately get nerfs before performance plus it add style to your ride lol i have nerf bars to save me from gtting ran over or breaking my leg, front bumper for style and making it easier to lift, and full engine skid plate and swing arm skid plate, Then I have the maxxis razr front tires so I handle better. Now I am getting into performance I have my K&N and soo to have my HMF slip on and dynojets

for preformance when mine was stock the first 3 things i got were k&n air filter, whitebrothers e-series and my edelbrock quick silver.but the edelbrock when properly jeted was the biggest improvement.

Anything you can do to improve the suspension will net superior performance. Bare stock engine with a quality suspension set up will out perform most of the other mods you are talking about.

For me, nerfs made a huge difference in how comfortable I was riding & jumping my bike. I also REALLY noticed a difference when I put new (wider) bars on. I felt much more in control of the bike. My front suspension was easily my best performance upgrade, but I would say safety first, then performance.

for me i'd have to say the clymer manual. without it i wouldn't know how to work on the dang thing. saved me lots of money to work on it myself rather than taking it to the dealership.

other than that probably adjusting the shocks. aftermarket pipe and jetting and hotcams stage 1.
