my buddy painted his 450r with grey ghost flames, it looks sick, and he clear coated all the plastics, it holds up great until you bend the plastics or wreck! :p he did it with an air brush in a vo-tech class i believe...

you guys have never seen true fire before? thats definetly an amateur painter. cant see it holding up, as it would just be regular auto paint. first bend and it will crack off

So how is the paint holding up? Has the tank started to bubble yet? It will..

paint is still holding up awesome. its been washed with the pressure washer, ridden on a weekly basis and still looks good. we had troubles with the tank from day one so we didnt have our hopes up too high about that. obviously with an older tank and having gas spilled on it from time to time causes problems. we had to sand it slightly and then paint it to make it look decent so the surface was rough to begin with, but... the rest is holdin up gooooood!

i recently painted my plastics too, what did he do to prep? doesnt look like he sanded it at all. even if its cleared the paint wont be as adhesive as it looks now. unless he used 1000 grit sand paper which would still be too fine. i dunno keep us updated, im scared mine wont hold and i used custom mixed plastic with flex paint.
