header really hot

I just put a full exhaust on my 450r I had a slip on before and it was jetted perfect when I started it up after putting the full exhaust on it ran for 1 min and the header was the hottest ive ever felt. Is there something wrong with it or is it normal.

well if its glowing it sounds like its lean.....if it were me I would be doing some rejetting

prob. on the lean side, the full system should flow better than the stock header with slip on.

well it will probably glow orange at night but shouls be alright. i dont think i am lean cause i have a 190 main jet in there. and the dynojet needle on the 4th clip. i am also at like 1500 feet above sea level. the stock header will glow with the stock jetting. also my brothers ram 3500 v10 manafolds will glow at night.

if i was you i would invest in a jet kit if its really really hot.

Most aftermarket headpipes are a very thin metal compared to the stock pipes, so you will notice a lot more heat radiating off. Just make sure your jetting is good then just make sure not to burn yourself.;)
