I have a 41mm fcr powroll carb for my 400ex, its been through the works with the speed shops and every thing, cost about 600 bucks. Now that I got my new 450 im wondering if it will be any improvement on it? It was wayyyyy to much for my little stock 400ex, no one ever told use it was made for a 440ex...., anyways anyone think it will make a diff or even fit?

I highly doubt it will "slide right in". I'm sure it can be made to work though.

If it is for a 400EX, it won't fit right in because they are made to use different boot sizes (airbox). I am not sure of what else may need some adjustment or modification, but as said, with some slight mods it should work just fine. And yes, it will be much better than stock, assuming it is an older model 450r. If it is a newer model, you probably won't see much of a difference, but there will be a difference of some sort.

the TPS sensor wiring might not be the same. you'd probably have to buy the Noss adapter to make it work with your airboot.

Say I get it to fit, will there be much of a gain?

Yep. The FCRs are known to work very well!
