transmission honda 250ex

hi all and thanks for your advice in advance. My 2001 250ex honda got stuck in reverse. I was riding it and heard a clank. It shifted fine and rode it home. i went to put it up and backed, it backed up just fine. I forgot something and went to go forward and it would not shift out of reverse

yea i that happens to my 07 250ex....u should turn the ignition on and wobble the quad back and forth then shift up to neutral. If that doesnt work roll the quad backwards then forward and then try to shift up to neutral...if that doesnt work send me a private message and ill try to see whats up

weird, ya know sometimes i have trouble shifting out of reverse into first and i have to pull it up with my hand...but not as bad as yours..
