When I bought my 450r it came with 9" baja rims along with 20" I Razr tires. After buying I decided that I wanted to run AX and dropped down to 18" holeshots on 8" douglas beadlocks for the rear. My question is to get my acceleration similar to that of the 20" tires what would be the correct change of teeth on the sprocket?

in fact, you get more accelaration with smaller rear tires, you have to shift quickly, and probably you can hit the rev out faster in every gear..

you can go taller on the front sprocket or smaller on the rear..

i think stock comes in 14/38, you can try 14/36 or 15/38..

i have a dg magazine its feb of 2005, where they did a report on a desert team, and they where testing diferent tires (20' and 22's) and diferent sprockets (they did 14/36,14/38, 15/34, 15/36, 15/38) the fastes was 15/36 with about 89 mph.

this was for trx450, also they did for the yfz and they even tired 16 front sprocket.. i'll get the right info when i get home

i remebrer this 'cause i was reading it yestarday
