You should get the tags. I have the tag t2's and they are awesome. You are gonna spend a little bit more but it is definetly worth it. They are a lot stronger. My cousin who lives next door just got renthals on his blaster he seems to like them but I havnt rode it with them. But the tags will not break no matter what you put them through. I have rolled my quad down a huge hill that I couldnt get up and the handlebars were in perfect condition. I have also flipped it several times and they are still perfect. So I highly reccomend them. But the renthals are good to just not as strong.

problem with really strong bars, bending steerin stems.. mucho denero... get standard renthals, strong so they ownt bend, but no so strong taht you will mess up ur stem

What about tag x-5's? I think they look better then the renthals, and not everyone and his brother has them.

I have renthals on my 400ex and really like them. They seem planty strong, and as far as bent steering stems go, a sledge hammer worked just fine for me!:D

I like renthals also, Ive had renthals on 3 of my machines- 92 LT 250/97 RM250/01 400EX. And they've held up well.

I'm also a Renthal man. One hell of a handle bar for the $$$$. I've seen them go through some crazy rolls and hold up well. Very good quality.

I have Renthals on my Raptor. My last good crash took out my TimmyBoy steering stem but the bars survived.

nausty the renthal twin walls are awesome bars but only if u have a bike i mean on a quad b4 u bend them u will bust a houser steering stem. my friend jeff nelson 250a rider bent a pair of those twin walls right where they meet the fat part and renthal sent him a new pair for free.

remember when u buy these u have to get a differnt triple clamp they aren't 7/8s bars they are fat like pro tapers. the whole package for a bike is like 280$.

i have the renthals regular bars and i love them i rec them to anyone. heres a pic of them they are 400ex bend.

Do NOT get Oneal bars. I got the cheapies, cuz I wanted them to bend when I rolled down a hill, but when I cleared a 60ft double this week (the first ride with the bars on) I bent the bar down. Cheap. And anyways someone at bluff told me, that if you are worried about your steering stem, just have your bars a hair short of tight, so they will move when the wheeler rolls over them.

Well i made my decision..
I called my dealer and ask for prices and he had a pair of quad racing renthal bars for $109 canadian and they are the same size as the stockers so i dont have to buy the kit for different mounting and stuff........

Also where does the air intake house go for the gas cap?????????
thanks

I would just take that dumb handle bar plastic off, and just hang the hose someplace next to the sterring stem. Looks better too.

I put my gas tank hose inside the little hole in the steering stem, ( were the hose goes with the plastic piece on anyway)

I did the same thing on the 300EX, put the gas breather tube in the hole on the steering stem. The next ride after that I lost the tube. I dont know how they are connected on the 400 gas cap, but make sure you have it connected tight somewhere. So you dont loose the whole breather tube. It was only 2 bucks to replace, but Im not going to loose it again.

i haven't done it but ppl on dirtbikes run teflon tape between the clutch and bars to keep it from breaking and twisting in a wreck..soo..could this be done with the bars to keep them tight but in wrecks twist down..just a thought...

Everyone here is so worried about getting a certain named handlebars. But did you every think of which bend to get?

I have a set of Renthals on my R, but I beleive they are a motocycle bend. A Kawaski 125, I think. Not sure a friend had an extra set laying around and I liked them better than the CR250 low bend that I had on there.

Best bet is to bring your quad to the dealer, without your bars on there and try all the ones they have.

I bent my Banshee bars in a wreck and got the Renthal quad bend for the Banshee. I hated them, too high and too swept back for me. But at the time I didn't think about it. I have since replaced them with another style (again not sure of the bend) and it is MUCH better to ride and turn.
