picked this truck up today after selling my 99 isuzu rodeo and 05 450r last month

it rides real nice....plan on getting the bed line'xed, astars rear window sticker, some black rims, tires are like new so ill use them, and a nice system...probly 2 10s under the rear seat, amp, headunit, and some door speakers.

its an 02 4.7 4x4, owner was a maintainence freak.

yupp the 400 is awsome. its quiet so i can ride it anywhere, reliable so i can beat on it, and still really fun. i took it to a beach party the other night....rode 10min on the backroads to the beach, then a 20min ride down the beach to the party, and back...at midnight. if i started my 450 up at 9pm it would have the neighbors in a fuss.

a street legal dirtbike is the next toy im going to start saving for though

i got it for around 10....it took over a month of being vehicle-less to find it but im verrryy happy i did. compared to the 10-15 other trucks/cars i looked at before this, its most definitly the nicest and most taken care of...i definitly made out good.

it should be perfect with those couple mods-bedliner,black wheels and some music. i would love a nice exhaust, dual slash cut side exit flowmasters or something but id much rather save the money for the insurance and my new streetbike fund.

im only 17 but i already have seen how the "work hard to play hard" quote comes into play. its real nice to have things your proud of and know are a result of working your *** off everyday

thanks for the compliments everyone

I'm pretty sure the 4.7 has only 10 less hp than the r/t.

Enjoy it while you can. Every dodge is plagued with a glass transmission and a bad front end. My family owns 3 dodge's and each have the same problems. All my friends too.

At about 100k miles the tranny goes, and the front end should always be monitored. :ermm:

Not always. My Dakota has 145,000 miles and the trans still shifts like new. :D

ny300exrider- Very nice Dak. I like the grey. I have a 98 Dakota ext. cab 4x4 with the 5.2 and I love the truck.

If you are looking to mod the truck check out this site... lots of good info.

Nice truck. Been having mine for a few years with on problems except having my ball joints replaced under the recall. The 4.7 is a good little engine. It will hold its own against a stock RT.

updated: threw some procomp wheels/tightened up the t-bars a bit.....all i need now is a bedliner and a sound system..

i can get 2 12 punches in a box for $90 bucks...thinking about getting them and just sittin em on the rear seat instead of getting the custom underseat box w/ 2 10's which is close to 300bucks. if i plan on taking people in the back seat, ill just unhook the subs and leavem home.

i wasnt sure how the truck would look with aftermarket wheels, especially without a lift but overall, i actually really like how it looks. im a big black rim fan so it definitly worked out for me...sets me aside from the 500 other dakotas in my town. i will really be set aside from the others when i roll through with the subs beatin....cant think of too many trucks around here that do that:D
