I lost the oil filter spring and am soon getting another one. is it bad to temporarily ride with out it? what EXACTLY does it do newayz?? thanx

If I were you I wouldn't even start it until you get that spring back on....

Yeah I wouldn't start it up it's not worth blowing it up over a $2 part.

I don't know the right answer to this, but it seems the only problem with no spring would be having unfiltered oil running through your engine. I know thats a big deal but not as bad as the others are making it sound. And thats just my uneducated opinion.

the spring holds the filter against the cover, keeping oil flowing throught the filter and not around.

is the 300ex supposed to have a spring, cuz i have never had a spring.

o fudge, when i bought mine and changed the filter there was never a spring, what will this mean.:confused: :mad:

It just meens that your oil has never been properly filtered.
