Does anyone have a 250 4-stroke dirt bike engine in a different frame like a 400EX, 250R or whatever it might be.

I wonder if you could retain the dual exhaust off the crf250 to put on the quad. That would look pretty trick

why would u ever want a ****ty 4 stroke in a 250r, a 250 4 poke has NO power compared to a 250 2 stroke

The reason we did that was to stay within the ama guidlines. My son is only 14 he can be on a 90-125cc two stroke or a 90- 300cc 4stroke. It puts out about 38 hp stock. The stock four stroke yz250f is very strong! It will easily out run a stock 450 quad motor. It has tons of torch and low end grunt. We have built a lot of quads and this quad by far is one of the best ones we've ever put together.

A freind of mine built a YFZ250 last week, he used the YZ250F motor out of a 2007 dirt bike, and a 2006 YFZ450 minus engine.
The only snag was the 250 motor is wider than the 450 motor, where it bolts into the 450 swingarm, he simply ground it out with a bench grider, and it fits beautifully now
The quad absolutely flies, and he just rode a 2 hour Xcountry yesterday with no problems.
It is designed for MotoX though, and he will race it for the next few weeks.
Thi is also designed to fit into the below 350cc four stroke class, and blows the Honda300 and Raptor350 away.
