So i have outgrown my old helmet and been needing a new one i found this one and its cheap and dot and snell approved.

but the color i cant tell the pics that well theres Matte Grey and Grey. What the difference ? one has a shiny coat on it and other is a flat grey? And if so which do you think would hold up better the glossed or flat?

It's your head. Don't be cheap. Spend the money and get a good helmet if you can. I'd never get a cheap helmet. Check out www.magicracing.com for some decent deals on nice helmets.

But anyway, I think the flat finish would hold up much better.

i dont think either will hold up better than the other..

neither one is the actual molded color, so both would show scratches just as easy..

as for how much to spend on a helmet.. there comes a point where your only paying for the name..

just buy what you can afford and what you like..

ARC has been around for a long time.. they sport the same quality as many others. HJC, M2R, KBC..
rockymountainatv has that helmet for about $80.. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDetail.do

Thats were i saw it at and i figured i would get googles and gloves with it so the order is over $100 for free shipping and to whoever said about not being cheap, its dot and snell approved so.

now i know this is gonna sound rediculous, but if i was you, id save up some more money and buy an ARAI. You will never have to worry about another helmet again. Its easily the best investment i have spent on gear and even including all the parts on my quad.

i do agree with <DRS>GPF about paying for the name, but ARAI isnt just a name, it provides the best protection, and it fits like a glove!

All I know is that I got a great deal on my helmet, and love it. The local dealer was having a sale and had $259 helmets for $100.

Like said, one is just glossy and one isn't....and neither should hold up any better than the other.

For the cheap vs. expensive:
I have always worn the ordinary, cheaper helmets and my buddies have the high dollar ones, and although there is a huge difference in the helmets, I can't see where one would protect you any better than the other. Now, if getting the perfect fit, the perfect weight...and all that other good stuff is really important to you, then you might be looking for one of those high dollar helmets. If not, the helmets that you are looking at will give you everything you are looking for.
