can you use the xr400 right case cover on 400ex?

instead of buying one of those hinson 400 adapters could you just use the xr 400 cover, i priced it ou on service honda and its like 170 plus gaskets and getting the hole for the kicker plugged.

i could have a local shop weld me up a cap for about 2o bucks, **** maybe even set up a kicker and loose the electric start? and battery and all?

this way you could access just the clutch instead of pulling the cover

As far as i know u acn do this, ive seen a few guys do it. I think the hinson cover will even match right up on the XR400 cover also!

I will be doing this in a few weeks, BUT i heard a stock XR400 clutch cover plate will not work on the ex, you my use the hinson plate with the XR400 side cover
