I'm headed off to college in about a month and need to buy a laptop. I've liked PC's my whole life, but lately it looks like Mac's got somethin goin for them. And so i was thinkin bout one of those Mac Book Pro laptops.

I dont know much about what's out there and what i should stay away from. Let me know what you guys think.

I love the Macs. Get a Mac and install paralles. Then you have the best of both worlds.

Just something to think about...

Smaller screens = longer battery life.

Also they are all pretty much the same so just go with the best deal you can get. I have Toshiba and my wife has Gateway. Both are nice.

I just got the Dell E1505. I changed the hard drive to 7200rpm instead of what they offer you (5400rpm)

I might be a little off with the numbers of the hard drive but basically I wanted a hard drive that worked faster but gave up some memory. The lower speed was giving you 120gigs the faster speed came with 100gigs

I have nothing to compare the Dell to but depending on what your doing I too heard the MACs are the way to go.

Also note: the dell offered me this laptop for under a $1000,
by the time you add the operating system and windows crap I paid $1700
