Hey, we invite all ATV racers to our Saturday, August 25 night race in Cal City. Starts at 7 p.m. for Kids. It's the Midnight Run, and it's a 2-hour Gran Prix set entirely on a desert course. No SX jumps.
We already have a great group of ATV competitors who race our Series, and we would like to invite new riders for this one and the rest of the Series. Classes are Expert, Novice & Beginners.

As of now, we start MCs first, by rows, and then wait four (4) minutes before the first row of ATVs take off. Everyone races for two hours.
However, if we were to get a larger group of ATV entries, we would run all ATVs separately either on a 60 or 90-minute GP.

The courses are normally between 8 to 14 miles long. All desert and all well marked.

If you wish more information, go to: www.altavistaevents.com or contact us at: info@altavistaevents.com

Thanks.

RACERS

Here is a partial list of sources for lighting systems for your bike or ATV. There are more but you have to search deep. We called around for "off-road lighting systems" and got a few. We placed these in no particular order although companies such as Baja Designs, Blais Racing, Four-Strokes Only, Night Rider, Thumper Talk, have more of a selection and are specific for bikes/ATVs:

Night Rider - http://www.niterideroffroad.com/ (Unique systems, and lightweight)
Blais Racing - http://blaisracingservices.com/parts/ (User and distributor
Baja Designs - https://www.bajadesigns.com/NET/mainframe2.aspx?content (Lots of experience in Baja)
Off-Road Lights - http://www.offroadunlimited.com
KC HiLites (for ATVs) - http://www.kchilites.com/store/ATV-C22.aspx?UserID=1640133&SessionID=lzNSEkr3aY4eFR5vm2zM
Thumper Talk - http://shop.thumpertalk.com/Electrical_s/904.htm Lots of leads for lighting systems and other)
Four-Strokes Only - http://www.fourstrokesonly.com/headlights.html
TRACEFIRE - Helmet lights - http://www.tracerfire.com/index_offroad.htm

Last year we bought a couple of LED tail lights, while racing in Baja. They are the ones you can clip onto the back of your helmet, back-pack and taillight and can be set up as single strobe, dual-strobe and permanently on -- there are 5 settings. Extremely lightweight, and only uses 1 AA battery that will last over 30 hours! It was under $10.00, and we believe we bought it at a Big 5 Store (there are others). Still have it and it still works.
EVERYONE MUST HAVE ONE OR MORE OF THESE FOR THIS EVENT! (On a personal note, I had one on the back of our race back and one on the back of my helmet, because if I got off the bike, and rolled in the dirt, my helmet red, strobbing light would still be visible.)

Hope this helps and if we have other sources we'll post them and send them to you.

NOTE: In some cases, the lighting systems are a bit expensive, and for some it may be difficult to purchase. But remember that once you have set up a lighting system for your bike, it will open up a whole new world in off-road riding. This is especially great for the hot summer months, where you and your buddies could ride all night and share in a great experience under the stars.
And just as importantly, there are now more and more "night" events that you can compete in (district, Baja, AVE, and others). So it's a good investment to have.

See you SATURDAY evening, AUGUST 25, 2007 at the Alta Vista Ranch, Cal-City, for Round 4 of the Alta Vista Events Desert Gran Prix Series.
