how old are you ? how tall ? how much you weight ?
you trail riding or taking it to the sand dunes ?

for 2k you can get a nice 250ex / 300ex /
or a average 400ex if your not in a hurry.

you have a brand in mind ? (cough... honda.... cough..... honda)

I agree that height and weight are important. In that price range you could get a nice modded 250 or 300, Hondas are great starter bikes. IMO the 400ex is the best starter bike all around. Good luck

thanks guys, i am 15 years old 5 foot 4 and weigh around 115 pounds. i was looking into a honda, either 300ex or 400ex, not sure which. i also looked at a roptor 350. and i will be trail riding, no dunes anywhere close to me

save up another $500 and buy like a used 03 or 04 400ex for 2500

the 400ex would be a great choice, it has mild manners with respectable power that is pretty easy to control.
if you can swing a few extra bucks and get an 05 or newer you will be blessed with reverse for the trails.
(not mandatory but helful)

it handles really well and with a few bolt ons it can also be pretty fast

remember that until 04 the 400ex was honda's baddest race atv that you could buy (still in production)
