Has anyone used a 400ex stem on a 250x/300ex? Any modifications need to be done for it?

Did you have to modify it at all or just bolt in?

on the 400 stem, that ring that goes around it is barely tack-welded in 2 spots. on the 400 the steering stem clamp/bushing mounts right above that, the 300s clamp mounts right there, so you need to grind it down at the welds and remove that ring and it bolts right in, other thing is the stops for the steering stem at the bottom, are reversed. on the 300 the stop is in the back, you either have to cut it off and leave it off or reweld it up front which is what I did.

yea, i have a stock 400ex stem on mine, and all i had to do is grind that stopper off because its in a different location from the 300ex stem

I dont have my bars on yet so i dont know, my boss has a 400 stem on his 330 and Ive never had a problem when riding it. if i remember right he has stock brake lines/throttle and clutch cables as well. he doesnt have the reverse cable or e brake cable anymore so cant say if those will still reach.
