hoping you guys can help me out. buying a new quad for the wife, which one is the best buy? i'm leaning towards the z400 because of the better suspension and better power and the honda is pretty bulletproof. she is still a beginner but she is coming along pretty good so basically i will probably just jet it and pipe it. she is coming off of a modded scrambler 400. gimme some info guys. thanks

Just sold my 400ex to get the z400 I have now, 10x better in all aspects, smoother, better ride, more power, seats is nice, has reverse, and much much more, definatly hands down go with the z400.

power goes to z.....handling goes to ex....the z is smoother but either one can be made faster then each other....honestly its all in what you like

It was probably just my 400ex, but I say the Z handles 5x better than the ex. I love the Z.

i think you should go with the z400 because when yur in the trails, its nice to have reverse. But, i must say, i do think the handling is better on 400ex than the z. But, all in all i think you should go with the z

yeah it had to be the bike..but yeah i think the ex handles better but its all your own opinion..any sport quad above a 350 can be turned into a respected bike lol so go with either

Something to think about... The z400 is liquid cooled which makes for more horsepower and longer lasting engine parts. The downside is, there are more things that can go wrong with it, example a stick in your radiator.

The 400ex is air cooled and is a pretty tuff ride, but nothing can take my LTZ away from me...

Go for the Z. The ride is much smoother and comfortable than the EX. It's faster, better looking, and up to date on the technolgoy part. The ex is old school but proven. I have had no problems with our Z. I perfer to ride it over my 450R any day. Almost as much power but rides so much better! I added a whitebrother E2 exhaust, jetted the carb, and Proflow intake with a Uni filter with the lid off. Runs great, plenty of power!
