I heard someone say that the factory Suzuki race team LT-R450s had their EFI replaced with carbs. No evidence was presented and this EFI-to-carb switcheroo seemed unlikely to me.

Is this just another ridiculous rumor designed to bash EFI or has Suzuki really stripped EFI from their factory LT-Rs??

Basically, I'm looking for a picture that shows EFI or a carb or someone who has actually seen a team Suzuki LT-R first hand and noticed which it had.

thanks

I'm sure somewhere there's a photo that shows what I want to see on #55 or #191 ....just gotta find it.

Fuel pump still seems to be there.

I wish I could get a really good close-up of the EFI/carb area on a picture like this....

it can be done and yes it will make some stank, but very costly
buy dirt bike harness, dirt bike carb, install kicker, remove fuel pump, battery, starter. the weight loss alone would make a difference....too many if's for me to spend that kinda money

if your thinking that its because their is a kick start, that is all explained in the article about installing suzuki's kicker kit

i herd that they have switched to the carb to, but it was just from a friend i wanna know this now to, im sure if they did the switch that they would just leave the fuel pump there so it looks like theres still efi but thats just my opinion

I too have heard this speculation floating the boards, but have no evidence of it.... I would like to know too.

To me it could go both ways... I know the riders all said they loved the smoothness of the power delivery offered by EFI

However, perhaps the builders prefer carbs? Who knows... someone go look at one...!

I heard a rumor like that when they first came out but it wasn't true. I'll just have to ask JJ, Doug or Rod this weekend at Walnut. I'm pretty sure they have been running the FI since day one.

That'd be cool. I'm pretty much convinced they are in fact running EFI--but having it confirmed 100% would be nice.

from all the pics I see the EFI set-up is still on there. If they did it to save weight they would prabably take it all off;)

I am about 90% sure that the rumor started due to the kick starts.
