Ok, I just bought a 4x4 F150 SuperCrew So that I could lift it. For all my Parts (lift, tires and wheels) its gonna be about $4500. For awhile now, I have been debating on selling my quad, I dont ride much any more, and its getting really expensive for parts and Gas. I used to ride at my house, but I can no longer do that. I ride maybe once a month. I'm thinkin about selling the quad, lifting the truck, then if I miss the quad, i'll save up for another one.

What would you do??

whats the point of lifting your truck? are you going to be doing off-roading? If so then i guess u wouldnt need ur quad anymore, but if your not lifting your truck to do offroading than whats the point?? But, It's up to u and im only 16 so what do i know? ;)

I would sell the 450r. Lift my truck and do anything else that I would want to do with it. Then I would find a 400ex and build it to an awesome trail quad. Just my opinion.

sell the quad, keep the little 50 maybe hook it up some more, and when your buddys go out riding bring the pitbike to mess around on, hang out and have fun.

$4500 sounds like an expensive lift kit. How big are you going?

Last time I was looking, I could get a complete lift installed, wheels, and tires for less than $3000.

keep the bike and save $$$ to get the lift kit...as soon as you sell the bike, the riding will pick up...i have gone through that a few times...

the instant gratification from selling your bike and getting the lift kit will not outweigh the loss you feel when the chance to ride present themselves and you are sitting at home when the friends are out enjoying their bikes

Yup. I sold my year old dirtbike a while back to get a drop kit for my truck and after the "new/cool" factor wore off it was no big deal anymore and I wanted my bike back. It was a waste of time and money.

A quad expensive on gas and parts?? I guess you never had a lifted truck before then. I don't regret lifting my toyota when i was younger, it was alot of fun. Used to throw the trike and a dirt bike in the bed for a day out in the pit. when we got tired of riding we could jump in the truck and climb some hills. Just something to keep in mind is speedometer will be 15mph off with 36" tires. ex: 45mph will actually be 60mph and a lifted truck is a money pit. just my 2 cents.:p

F$%& the lifted trucks i have had many and they are all money pits, tie rods, ball joints, pitman arm, idler arm then tires and regear i can go on and on leave it alone, my new truck i just leveled out i would rather spend my money on my quad or my boat than sinking thousands into my truck anymore.

i wouldnt lift the truck, whats the point?? unless your going to do some serious off road, there isnt a point, but you can always sell the R and get a less expensive quad just to ride round on and have fun

I've had lifted trucks and I've had nice quads. If I had to pick one over the other I'd keep the quad.Way more fun :D

I'm going to have to agree with the majority of the responses so far. I think unless you are serious into off roading, etc...spending a lot of money on something like a lift is kind of pointless. I would NEVER ditch the quad to buy parts for my vehicles. If anything I'd leave them alone and buy a second quad.....wait.....already did it.:blah:

sell the truck, sell the quad, and help pay off your house, that would be money well spent!
