Why would it be any harder to do this on a 4 stroke? If anything I think it would be harder to do this on a 2 stroke. 2 strokes are usually made to be good at one thing... bottom end or top end, its hard to build one thats good at both, where as a four stroke seems to be more adaptive. Just a thought...

Where are you going with this? Are you looking for information or are you just trying to cut everyone down?

How much money do you have into your quad out of curiosity.

I bought a 450r to go along with my 250r, and sold the 250r

the 250r handled better (alot better)
the 450r did everything else better.

keep the old R, they are cool and will never go totally out of style
(like the 69 camaro)

I was going to keep both mine but had to get something for the wife to ride (she couldnt handle the old r)

Why not keep it and buy a 4 stroke so you have the best of both. All depends on your wallet.

i started out trail riding and racing an R. i loved it, but there is always alot of work to keep up on them. ive had a couple four strokes since, a 400ex, crf450 hybrid and now a yfz. i like the four strokes alot better. rebuild the engine once a year or every two years. im alot faster on the track too. smoother power and it puts it to the ground.. dosent just spin the wheels. but anyway, your friends are not the one's riding it so who cares what they want. if you like it keep it. the four strokes will be there when you want one haha. and if you dont im pretty sure they will always make parts for the R.

Im my opinion a person would have to be sick to sell a 250r. I think the 250r is the best quad ever built and will always be the best quad ever built besides the 04-05 450r. This is just my opinion so what you want. I personally like 4 strokes better for trails and racing but I always wanted a 250r to have becuase they will always be great quads and will never die/

250r use to be the best but the 450r did what the 400ex couldnt.
it retired the old 2 stroker.

dont believe me ? check the price on 250r's now compaired to 03
(before the 450r) they are still great atv's but the demand is not there like it use to be.

You will find out if you try to seel the 250r that noboby wants them anymore. I have 3 of them and can't give them away.

i just made the switch from a laeger to a 450r,the 250r seemed faster, but the smoother power of 4 stroke ,i dont get arm pump as easy or get as tired riding it,dont have to use clutch as much, but you do need a little more speed to clear stuff since are heavier bikes, the cr500 rear link is hard to compare too,im thinking about trying the holz cr500 rear type setup,i have the holz xc linkage with fox on the 450,but its no laeger just not as forgiing if you land sideways or a little short on a double, what sucks is just sold the laeger 250r so i have to make the 450 work now

If you don't want a 4 stroke don't buy one ..Keep kicking but on your 250R.It's a whole diffrent riding style ..When they start kicking your but then think about the change. It's like saying talk me into buying a V10or V8 ,5.4 4.6 ????

Anyone that has rode a 250 knows they are the best quad ever made. You can do so much with them. They are easy to work on and fix. You can throw them around easy. Some Of these 4 strokes are to heavy to throw around. You have a great set up keep it!!!!!! 250r pricing has dropped in the last couple of years and the kids don't even know what they are. Long live the R........

thats not a direct quote, I said nothing about the yfz

they are nice but who wants the second best atv made ?

I have rode and owned a 250r, it was a great atv and stood for 20 years as the best in alot of peoples eyes.

there is a diff. between what was the best and what is the best.
(I sold mine for a 450r)

a modded big bore 440 with extras and the right rider may take a new stock 450r

add the hrc kit and two skilled riders and my money is on the 450r

by your sig. I would assume you already know this

I honestly dont know how young kids like me dont know and havent ever heard of a 250r, thats ridiculous, i mean how can you not? the 250r is the mold of todays high performance quads
