Here are my pics after I jetted my bike. This was a brand new plug ran for about 3 hrs, then pulled to take the pics.

To me its either just right or slightly lean...what do you guys think.

the best way to tell is to chop the threaded part off with a hack saw and look down at the bottom of the porcelin, there is a ring of color down there that will give you the best indication.

The accurate way to check for proper jetting is to put in a new plug and let it get warmed up, after that drive it at full throttle for a couple of seconds and then kill (turn off) the engine. Let it cool and then pull the plug and check.:)

You should warm it up on an old plug, then switch to a new plug. I'm with you on the rest of it, although there's no specific reason let it cool before pulling the plug (other than it sucks working around a hot engine). The idea is to spend as little time as possible at any throttle setting other than the one you are testing for. Typically plug readings are only used for the main jet but I'm not aware of a reason they couldn't be used for other circuits.

The problem with reading plugs that have been ridden at all different loads, temperatures, and throttle positions is the different carb circuits show up on the plug as a single, confused reading. You can get a general idea about how a bike is jetted from an old plug, but it won't help you decide between a 150 or 155 main jet, for example.

Sucks getting the plug out of the ex engine as it is, even worse doing so on a hot engine:blah:
