im looking into a new quad. i just sold my 250r sadly. but im looking into a bored and stroked 426ex or a 440, 450 or 460ex. what are the performance gains from each of these? i mainly do flat track/tt and or slight mx around here when i can. i want osmething to keep up with the 450's and things. im a god rider, i just like some power behind me. so please all help appreciated.

426 will give you good reliability, 440 makes good power (if you build it right) & 450/460/465 makes great power (again, if you build it right). But when you get up to 440 & ^, you have to start to worry about cooling, (bigger oil tank, air scoops and thicker oil).
It just turns into a money pit, and makes you wonder should I have saved this money and bought a 450?

450's out perform 400's but if you have the 400 make the best out of it and have fun....i would go with thr 426 because it is good power and relaible....the 440 is way to hit or miss you can make them fast but you better fall in love with your bike and take extreme care of it or she'll bite you in the ***

If you want to keep up with 450's, then buy a 450.

Do a 426 more reliable less maintenance and you can always bore it up if somthing goes wrong. Just find a trusty engine builder!

IM always smoking the 450s on my high compression 440. but there Is a lot of maitnence to it. Im always changing gaskets and rings but thats pretty easy. I would recomend a 440 if you have the time for it. I would reather buy race ready 440 that spent 6000 on a 450 and drop another 5000 or more to make it competitive.
