Hey guys can anyone tell me if Maier plastics are any good compared to stock? Or any other companies as well.

maiers are ok, i had some on my 400 that i liked, they seem thicker/sturdier than stock. almost everyone at the track who has maiers on the 450r, have broken lower rear fender brackets. and on my buddy daves quad, the plastic radiator shroud mount broke off.

I like the way the rear plastics mount with the Maier than I do with the stock. I dont like how they just stick into the rubber peices underneath the tank. The plastic would always come out. Maier has screws holding them on there instead.

I like the way stock ones look but maier is a lot stronger

I got Maiers last time and kind of regret it. They didn't hold up well at all. Broke every mount bracket with ease and first tumble creased them pretty good. Won't buy them again.

I have Lakers going on now and they are a piece of art. I'll know in a few months how they hold up.

i think the stock plastic looks better and with a bonus it is cheaper
plus quite a few colors to choose from now

my white plastic is holding up great on my 06--- even with a couple rollovers shows no creases and just light scuffing u wouldnt see with vs black or red-- imo

The maier plastic for the 450R is terrible IMO, like said the bracket mounts all break off, and nothing seemed to line up correctly. Also mounting them is a chore... my buddy uses zip tyes on his....


Also factory plastic seems to hold up very well and it can be got very cheap on ebay... its the only way I would go if you're on a budget.

I agree, My maier plastic didnt mount for chit. I have broken the rad mount , and the lower rear fender mounts already and I only rode it once. THis is the last time i will buy Maier anything. Their skid plate also does not mount at all. I have to zip tie it on cause the mounting is so terribly off. Im getting pissed about maier just typing this.
