I just got a 98 banshee and I noticed 2 wiring connections unplugged, they are on opposite sides and are both Above the engine. It seems to run fine without them but does anyone know what they are for? and could anyone tell me how much oil to use and what kind?

They are probably the TORS connections. No big deal, just leave them there, or tape them up so water can not get in them.

And what would you like to know about oil and what kind? Are you wondering about case oil, or engine oil? I use 15W-40(Diesel Oil) in my case due to it not having and friction additives. Lots of guys run actual case oil though, just read around and pick one that is a good price for you. For mixture oil, there is a lot of different options out there. I run Amsoil Dominator racing oil, mixed at 40:1. But there are lots of different options guys run out there.

yea i think they are for the t.o.r.s because when i connected them it wouldn't start. i went to the local Yamaha and they told me 1 1/2 qts of 20-40 so i put that in. But something else seems wrong with it because in power band it doesn't feel like it is going as fast as it should? im thinking i might need a new clutch??

What is all done to your Banshee..what mods does it have, what gearing are you running, what size tires, what is your current jetting? I would start looking at things like that before you look into your clutch. Not saying it isn't your clutch, but what is it doing when the powerband hits?

I used almost 2 quarts of maxima 80wt in my case. Never had a problem with it.

I think its all stock except for fmf power core silencers and a twin air air filter. something is defenetly wrong because I cant even get the front end off the ground It just seems to make noise as if i were going fast but it doesn't Go.

Yes it could

Are you trying this on dirt or pavement?

Yes it was on pavement, but I bought the clymer book then I decided to take the clutch cover off and I measured the friction plates and every thing was brand new...the adjustment was just so far off the the pressure plate wasn't coming in contact with the rings and plates. I'm guessing that someone put a new clutch in and didn't adjust it right. It works perfect now. then I made the mistake of mixing the wrong kind of oil with the gas and it started running bad. the people at my local Yamaha told me to run golden spectro at 50:1 so I'm gonna try that and see how it works

whoa tell your yami dealer to STFU. 50:1?????:eek2: :eek2:

I would just get some yamalube and run 32:1. 50:1 is un- heard of except for drag engines.

Thats what I thought but the guy I bought it from said he always ran 50:1
