who is going to make it to the ATVA biggest national race of the year? A chance to win a free DRX , that makes the drive worth while. Everyone bring out those young drivers and let them have some fun , if you have never been to a national event you and the family will have a great time . We race most all of the nationals so if we can answer any questions or direct you in any way don't hesitat to ask. rules? classes? format etc, checkout www.atvmotocross.com

gonna try to bring my grandson and run 70 cvt class , this will be his first national event. I guess this will test how good he really is , he is very excited and practicing daily . do you think a lil GA kid on an almost stock drx will have a chance?

You will be close at the start, then the gate will drop. We raced a cobra 50 with our 70 and it wasnt pretty. We did beat the cobra off the line but didnt take long for the cobra to check out from the group. So imagine what a cobra 70 is going to run like. Thats why i have been flirtting with the darkside, can i make my drx 50 and 70 run with the cobra's.

your right Ken the cobras are very fast , but at the nationals cobras cannot run in the cvt classes . Wizard you will only be racing with other 70cc cvt style minis and I know yours is fast enough to be in the lead pack ! ( there will be etons and dinli's and apex's etc). we are thankful cobras cannot race with our cvt's, and ken in my opinion , no you cannot make your 50 or 70 cvt run with cobras without breaking the bank and maybe still not . The cobras weigh 50 lbs less than our bikes and that is hard to overcome

You are right ken the cobras run in the production class ,but the DRX's run in the cvt class . These are two different classes. here are the classes. Now technically you can legally run a DRX in the 70 production class but you would not be competitive. Hope this helps.

Marc

ken the only possible way to try to keep up would be with a full pro race motor from metrakit ive seen bikes with these run well against the cobra

really, i've seen air cooled cvts run well and beat cobras....cobra 70cc production quads only race in the 70 shifter class..70cc ss is a ecx 50 auto with a big bore kit....don't fool yourself thinking a stock drx70 will be competitive at loretta lynn's...go to loretta's for the experience(good, bad or indifferent)if you do well that adds to the experience...good luck

Im just trying to figure out what we want to run next year, we have the drx 50 and 70 but cant do anything until the end of this season.

Hayden will be 7 in Aug. and we are looking to run SSQSA, and some of the National races.

What would you guys do,mod 50,mod 70,cobra 50 sell all of them and take up golfing,HELP

A stock DRX 70 will not be competitive with the top 5, but may be able to hang mid pack. If you have equal riders, a DRX with a 350 chevy can't hang with a Cobra. LOL. :)

i want to keep running the drx, if their is a class i can be competitive in. i will mod the quad until the wife says no more. I wasnt sure about the classes and thought the only class drr was competitive in was the 4-6 50 class.

hey Ken, if your talking about the ATVA Nats, they have all kinds of classes for the CVTs. I think you said something about a 70 CVT, in that class, there are 2 maybe 3 that you need to really mod to keep up with, but with some minor to medium mods, you can run top 5 with a good rider. Now, that is of the present. It could always change a month or year from now. Depending on if more riders show up, or present riders start modding more and more.

Ken ,
Your new drx 70 is 44 wide, ext swingarm In the cvt 70 class you can be very competitve with your drx 70cc , with a couple of mods , set of elkas, and metrakit cyl and pipe and the rest will be up to your driver . IMO the driver is the secret to winning MX races, I have seen a lot kids win races on slower machines due to driving , experience and competitive spirit. The last 2 atva (70cvt)nationals have been won by Christian Horne #7 on a kasea ,bike is by no means state of the art nor extravagant although it does run fair , but this kid has heart and can drive it for all it is worth.
Go to the nats and enjoy the experience!

Thanks for the info, I have to figure out which bike to mod for the 70 class 07 50 or 07 70. remember we have that stupid stock appearing class at local track,im thinking about just giving it up.

No, Anyone can race. In 05, it was difficult though, most all the mini classes had full gates and you had to qualify. But last year the crowd was much thinner and just about everyone got to race. I expect it to be even thinner this year with gas prices and the economy. So I suspect everyone will get to run if the rest of the races this year are any indication.:)

O K I am going to let the cat out of the bag, almost stock as drr wizard stated it in his post leaves alot of grey area, yes the plastics and the seat are both still stock , I will just leave it at that because that is one fast DRX , and i am willing to bet it will suprise some folks. that is payback wizard LOL I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say top 5 ,at his first national.
