Could somebody tell me exactly what my shift dogs are on my 300ex tranny. My 3rd gear went out and the shop said it was my shift dogs. I'm trying to find out the bad part of my tranny so I can throw away the bad parts and sell it. Whatever is broke i'll throw away, but the rest of it is in great shape.

The engagement dogs are the "nubs" that stick out from the gears and lock them together so they both gears turn together.

I'm going to check that out right now. What signs of wear should I look for. Rounded off edges?
