Recommendations for exhaust

Agreed. Sparks is good too if you have enough cash to drop into it.

ok, how about this... what kinda budget do you have to go and spend on a pipe setup? prices vary depending on pipes. the most commonly recommended pipe is a HMF.

sparks however (if you have the cash) seems to be the best setup for the 400ex.

well it depends

a hmf sport series slip on will run about 250 the full system will run about 450

a sparks exhaust system will cost well of 500 bucks

both are great pipes and you wont be dissapointed with neither

Hmf is about the best buy if youre buying brand new, but you can also get a nice used eseries for real cheap if you look hard enough. Eseries is good also if you need to tone the noise down sometimes like i do.:)

i like my WB E2 myself. i'm not really a big fan of the E-Series my friend has one on his 400 and i don't like it. my other friend had one on his 300EX and he didn't like it either.

i would have put a WB R4 on mine if they still made it.

go with the hmf, not only do they give you great hp and torque gains but you can also choose your color

with everything i had done to my 440 it made really stong power low- mid, and decent gains on the top end.

I'm a big fan of Yoshi pipes, awesome Hp gains, great value, and not annoyingly loud when uncorked.

Not sure if it a full or slip-on, but it's awesome as a slip-on too.
