sounds like your float is stuck. make sure it moves freely. hold it upright and move it about. make sure it can move from top to bottom without any obstruction. good luck.

The gas line out of the bottom is not an overflow, its to drain the bowl. Are sure its that line? If it is, make sure the drain screw is seated properly, its the one right next to the drain tube.

is there a hex plug on the bottom of the bowl? if there is, it may have worked loose causing gas to leak around the threads and dripping on the hose giving the illusion that it's coming from the hose.

I had this happen to me, the shop said my float valve seat was bad. Only unrepairable part on the whole carb!! Bought myself an 06 Carb for $125.00.

try tightening the drain screw as said above and if that don't fix it you may either need a new bowl or something is up with the screw because the hose on the bottom of the carb is just a drain hose not an overflow.

I was going through some of the old posts when I found this one. Just happened to me the other day. took some 180 grit sand paper and lightly sanded the float needle. Then I took and drill bit and by hand spun it on the float needle seat. Cleaned it real good and haven't had a problem out of it since.
