CRF ignition on 06'

has anyone put the CRF ignition on the on the 06 450ER? I heard that you have to change over to a kickstart, because it won't charge the battery??? does anyone know anything about this i would like to know. thanks

It can only be done on the 04/05 motors. Unless you want to drop a lot of money into getting your cases machined and having someone like JH racing, baldwin, or Trail Tech custom make you one.

But I looked into getting it done and thats what trail tech told me, but they also said they are working on a kit for the 06/07 motors but never got back to me.

We did 1 07 with a CRF ign. it was not worth the hassle we had to get the flywheels from trail tech because by the time we machined the OEM the crank the taper was too big. The trail tech flywheels broke often it was just not worth it. I would suggest a Tokyo Mods CDI box for the 06-07 bikes.
