where to get longer base studs??

where is a cheap good place to get longer base studs for the pro-x cylinders? i know esr sells them, but is there a common place without paying the name brand price?

whats the best way to get them out and put them in too, if u know?

To get them out just double nut each one and loosen the bottom nut so it applies force on the top one and will loosen the stud. I'm not too sure if you will need them or not, both my motors had the studs and cylinders attached when I got them.

i got my longer studs from Nacs.

i tried the double nut tick, but that only worked to get one stud out for me. i went to my local hardware store and bought a set of stud pullers. they worked great for both removing and installing the new studs. plus, i got an entire set for all different size studs and it wasn't much money at all.

If this is an older set of cases, be very careful removing the studs. With age they can be VERY difficult to remove, double nuts will not do it, and I've had a stud remover break the stud. Heat the area around the stud with a propane torch first, this will usually do the trick.

I went to a local shop and took my stockers and explained what I needed. He matched me up some longer studs that he said were for a suzuki dirt bike (didn't say which)...maybe give that a try.

Paid 11 bucks for both ;) .

I know some year cr250 ones fit also, did he also give you the longer collars for 2 of the studs also? You need those collars to center the cylinder and not let it move some.

do u loctite them when installing? red or blue?

no you dont need to loctite them when you install them.

Nope, the stocker collars worked fine with my PC 2000 cylinder.

if cant find the studs ,ive backed the stock ones out a little and never had a problem pulling threads,the double nut and propane torch seems to work good to loosten coroded studs,just heat alum around stud ,not stud itself ,and the aluminum will expand enough off the stud to remove the stud
