Does anyone know why my Outlaw 525 would POP at high RPM's???? I only have about 15 hours of riding time.

It started to do this when i installed a jetting kit but when i put it back to stock it stopped popping.

What jet kit did you install in it? I have the JD Kit and the instructions are awesome.

Since you said it happens when you are at high rpm's it should be the main jet that you need to change out. As long as it is running fine at the low and mid range that is what it should be.

Check your plug if it is white then you are lean, if it is black you are rich. What you want is a grey to a milk chocolate color.

Hope this helps.

I have JDp001 for Polaris outlaw 525. From JD Jetting. What jet setting are you using. Thanks for the Reply.

I was told by JD that the popping was due to poor seal at the exhaust head.
I have the jetting done and still have popping.

I JUST GOT MINE BACK FROM DEALER, AND TOOK IT FOR A RIDE. POPS AND FALLS ON FACE 3/4 THROTTLE AND FULL. RAN GREAT BEFORE, TOOK OFF AIR BOX LID AND PROBLEM WENT AWAY! YOU ARE TOO RICH(TRY PULLING LID AND SEE IF HELPS). I'LL BE DROPPING FROM 168 MAIN TO 165 MAIN FOR THE REST OF THE SUMMER.:macho

That was the problem with mine. I removed the header and put high temp sealent on the slip joint and now back-firing is GONE!
Another crappy design.:ermm:
