View Full Version : 10 foot trailer long enough?

I am looking at buying a 4x10 or 5x10 trailer to haul two 400ex quads.
Those of you with trailers...does this sound too tight?

This would be assuming no sides or tailgate. Quads would be held with tie-downs, of course.

FWIW, my quad is at 48" wide at the rear. The other is 45".

5x10 should be more than enough. I can haul 3 quads on my 6x12. Not sure about the 4x10 it might be a little too small if you want to haul any extra gear.

It is long enough but not wide enough you will need 6.5/7 foot wide so the quads fit inside the rails

i too have a 6x12 and you can pull 2 450s end to end with plenty of room to spare. im not sure if 400exs are shorter than a yfz or 450r but i think they should fit no problem. if you cant pull them end to end then you could load one sideways and pull the other on straight. one way or another i think it should be great for what you need!

Go for the 6x12, thats what i have and it fits 2 quads. (my 450 and my brothers utility)

5x10 is a little small, but I guess you can make it fit. Two of my stock length bikes barely fit...I have to put one up on the front rail to have enough room. I don't know how it would work out without the rails...with mine, there is no fitting it in sideways.

get a 6X12. its fits my brothers YFZ450 and his banshee when it was set up for motocross. and it fits his YFZ and my 90 with a good size tool box in the front.

We Have a 6x12 and you can fit two quads end to end or 3 side to side. I deff wouldnt get anything smaller than that

I've owned a 5x10 before. It's too small. If you get creative you can make damn near anything work--but you want loading and unloading to be convenient, not a laborious chore.

A 6x12 gives you that extra couple feet that makes all the difference.

i got a 5x8 and i can fit a 400ex and 300ex on it, but its really tight. you will be fine with a 10 footer
