? about the rev limiter

I bought a leftover '05 a year ago and I've had it in the woods about 5 times. Everything is bone stock on it. I ride with a couple guys that ride Z400's and I hear them hit their rev limiter all the time. I've never hit that point with my 450R and I ride as hard as anybody I know. Is this normal? The thing sounds like it's revved as hard as it will go but I never get that "miss" that the Z's get. Maybe I'm just not getting on it that hard? Sorry if it's a stupid question....I'm an old 2-stroke guy from back in the day.

With a stock 04 or 05 you will have to hold it to long in one gear to ever get in the limiter.

take off the lid and get a pipe. then it will hit it all the time!!

my 400ex is the same way compared to my cousins z. after i ride mine and then i ride his i notice that i hit the rev limiter alot easier.
