Well my dad has been shopping for a new truck and we went to toyota and he about bought a 07 toyota tundra xsp loaded but we came home and he found a used 07 Ford F150 decked out with 2k miles for 24k so we look it up on kbb.com and its worth 30k so hes going to go buy it now.

He bought his last car (06 toyota rav 4 )because of gas mileage but he missed having a truck.

Whats a good cold air intake and exhaust to get for alittle more hp and gas mileage hes going from 29mpg to 19 so he wants to get as much as he can.
I found volant cold air intake

My father, who drives 5mph under the speed limit everywheres and accelerates slower than my grandmother gets 15mpg in town. However when he drove cross country at 70mph with the AC blowin he did get right around 20 the whole trip. His only mods are a gibson catback and a K&N filter.

Cold air exhaulst aint going to do anything. Most cold air instakes are not even cold air lol'

Just get a K and N drop in and a Superchips programmer and call it good. Should pick up a couple MPG

Well he doesnt want to chip it because it could void his warranty.

I see with these cold air intakes and exhaust saying up to 30hp and 4mpg and stuff. Are they lieing or something?

he drives nothing but highway.

you really have to look at where the cold air intake goes.

a true cold air intake is ussually behind the front bumper.
MOst th time a "cold air intake" is only a shinny tube with a K an N stuck on the end that sits in the engine bay. Most the time a drop in high flow filter will do just as good.

As for chips look at the Bama/superchips programer you can reset it back to stock when needed

I have an 04 Supercrew Lariat 4x4(New Body). I love the truck but I would never buy another one. I haven't had any problems with it or anything, but the 14-18 on the sticker is BS. Like people have said above, I watch the needle drop going on a 5mile trip to Walmart. It pulls nice, but I will never buy another gas truck. It is diesel for me from here on out. They charge way too much for the F-150's. I think I will go Dodge. Ford just wants way too much for all their trucks.
