Maybe look for a S10, decent price and great gas mileage.

If you had a F350 dually you could damn near put two quads side by side in the back bed :p

i have a 95 dakota (last year of the boxy style), and it has a very wide and long bed, but with a 5-speed v8, fuel milage isnt that great, but it is a blast to drive

Personally I'd go with a 6 cylinder. Not saying 4's are bad, but in some truck cases 6 cylinders get better gas mileage.

my 4.0 ranger only gets 17. Reason for buy a 2wd small truck is gas mileage and I would really like almost 30MPG which would only be with a 2wd 4 cyl.

My old 4x4 Toyota with a 22RE engine (2.4L 4 cylinder) with 31"s would get 18 in the summer and 19 in the winter. Pretty sure the AC was accounting for that difference. I loved that truck. If not for the uncomfortable bench seat and me needing to tow a trailer I might still be driving it.

youre not going to get 30mpg out of an american truck... possible a standard toyota, and maybe a nissan, but...

I am open to all trucks. Only problems its hard finding yotas and nissans...they all have 250,000 miles or no one is selling them:confused:

Its a truck and trucks get truck mileage... they weren't designed to get good gas mileage... and if you think an F350 is kissing gas money good bye your sorely mistaken... I am currently in the market for an F-250 diesel because its 3x the size of my 97 ranger and gets better fuel mileage... not to mention diesel has been cheaper than regular unleaded for the last few months

ive got a 93 s10 thats got a 2.8 v6 in it along with a 5pseed manual and it gets great gas. average is somewhere about 20. my yfz thats an inch wider than stock front and rear fits no problems at all. you have to lift it over the wheel wells but its not a big deal if you ride it up with ramps. the tail gate closes to with only about a 1/2 inch to spare. great starter truck for me, cheap on gas and insurance!

Well I am have tempted to say screw it keep the ranger buy a small inclosed trailer to pull 2 quads to the races, and find a small geo or something to drive during the weeks.

Guess If I drive a small car during the week that gets 40MPG I should save enough money to balance out a 25mpg truck

I think the most I would be able to get out of my 2.5L Ford Ranger would be 25mpg. I'd say on average i'm roughly 21-23.

well my ranger almost gets 20mpg. I was just looking for something I could throw a quad in the bed and travel 5 hours to a race while getting 25 MPG. Dosen't sound like its happening.
Guess I will just suck it up lol. Maybe buy a geo to drive to work.

Geo or a Honda Civic. I know when I drove my dad's Honda Civic I could go two weeks on about $25 worth of gas. My dad said he got about 38mpg highway and 34 or so in the city. Definitely something to look into.
