snaped eye on front shock

I went riding today and snaped the bottom eye on my front shock on my 300ex. So im going to upgrade to either 400ex front shocks or z400 front shocks. which should i go with?

the same thing happened to me a few months back and i put on a complete 400ex front end, and i love it,

and the z-400 shocks tend to sit a little high on the 300 because there a little longer than the 400ex shocks

the z400 shocks dont make the front end sit much higher. i had some on my 300 and loved them, theyre supposed to be a little better than the 400ex shocks

you're wrong 400ex shocks are longer eye to eye as well as coil to coil then z 400 shocks and just about any other shock ...z400 front shocks are said to be better

REALLY.... 400ex shocks are 16.25 long.. z-400 shocks are damn near 17 inches long...

not to mention the valving and stroke are COMPLETLY off..

so before you tell me im wrong do some research

Agreed.. I have z400 shocks and they are longer although mine still do quite well.

look around on ebay for some aftermarket shocks i was on ebay lookin for some 400ex stock front shocks and ended up buying me some 250r ohlins...i'd say aftermarket is worth the money

I have a pair of Elka non rezzie front shocks. My son broke the bottom eye off one. If you would like a good pair of shocks from a 300ex, I will sell them for $100. They are set-up for for a 150-175 lb. rider w/ +2 300ex a-arms. It shouldn't cost too much to fix.

dirtblast did it snap off high enough that the oil came out of the shock when the eye broke off or is it still in there?

The shock body is fine. I'll take a pic as soon as I can so you can see them if you would like. We changed to Fox Air Shox so I really have no use for the Elkas.
