i really like mine. they hook up good too. they do seem to wear down kinda fast tho. much more affordable than either razrs or holeshots.

i have realtors for mud, sand, snow.... I want to get 18" tires for hard pack, mx, and just plain old dirt. It is for a 300ex.

Shredders are excellent I would rate them equall to razr's. Make sure you buy the 6 ply. They last long and are really strong. Turf tamers are a good tire and hook up strong, I don't run them though because they are expensive. When I say expensive I mean, theay are the cheapest tires out, but they are made of a super soft compund rubber and they ar only advailable in 2 ply rating, not 4 or 6. A lot of racers run them for moto cross, but they will tell you they replace them after every moto, because that is how fast the tread wears down. If you put in a hard days ride on them you will notice just how much tread you lost. They get expensive when the average recreational rider has to replace them every couple of weeks because they have no tread or they have a bunch of holes in their weak sidewall.

turf tamers are 4 ply. I didn't realize they wear down that fast. Can you get 6 ply 18" shredders?

I looked in my Dennis Kirk catalog and they have every size and they say all sizes of the Titan Turf Tamer are 2 ply. My friend runs them on his 250r ATC and they also say 2 ply on them. I'm pretty sure that all thy are advailable in.

I checked rocky mountain catalog at it does say 4, dennis kirk says 2, that is what i've seen before. I never heard of 4 until the Rocky Mountain Catalog. I think they are wrong, because they don't list 2 ply at all only 4. I have seen the 2 ply in person, so I know they are made in 2 ply. I don't know about 4, unless they recently redesigned them to be 4, but I have never heard of this.

I just checked in DirtWheels October 2001 page 64 they did a tire comparison here is what they say, "The Turf Tamer's downfall is that with the soft compound they tend to wear considerably quicker than most other tires. Its two-ply carcas is also prone to flats." I will take Dirt Wheels word on 2-ply.

Ok lets get this straight. Im not sure about the shredders but the tammers i do know about.

Tammers are 2 ply--
considering they are mainly a MX tire thats the best because it make them light

Tammers are cheap--
you can get them at local tire shops sometime for super cheap and even if you get them from a shop they are realy cheap

Tammers last longer then Holeshot mx's--
The groved tamers in my opinion last longer then the holeshot Mx's. I have both so don't say Im just asuming.

Tammers don't ware that fast--
for someone to say they change them every moto is insane although i dont doubt it. Unless they are riding on a very very hard packed dirt i find it hard to believe unless these racers are realy picky but i guess they are.

My tammers have took some considerablt beating sometimes i go through trails with them when im at the local track/trail. I use them at my cottage and there are plenty of paved roads all though i take it easy on the gas in these area's. Tamers are great Mx's tires. I like my cf/holeshot mx setup to. Infact im very impressed with the result off them. But if your going to trail ride i would definately go with the shredders

i mean betewn the two shredders are better for trails..

Although dirtwheels was right about that and usualy they are right about alot of things. but oftenly I don't know what thos testers are on cause they change their mind betewn months like its going outa style.

And all other mags for that matter
