i got it for $9,000 with 88,000 miles. kinda high but its what i wanted, plus if the motor blows i'll drop a 350 in it with a straight front axle

The SFA swap is the easy part in that equation.

Nice dime! A 350 swap isn't all that hard in an s10. Hell they make kits to do them now. A 351 swap in a ranger... well that's a different story. lol. Have fun with it. What are you running for a front axle? Are those 35's? If it's a stock front axle and you do some wheeling, I'd look into a stronger front rather soon. Trust me lol.

Last I knew, the only "kit" was for the older square bodied S-10's. The thought crossed my mind when I had my ZR-2, and I looked into it briefly. I remember there being an issue with wiring harness compatibility. Can't remember for sure, but the S-10 computer is on the left, and the harness for the the 350 motors needs to be located on the right (or vice versa). It's also a tight fit inside the new S-10's.
That was a couple years back though, so who knows, maybe something is available now that makes it easy?? I sure liked that truck though.
