I am going to be putting an HRC kit in my 07 here soon and I was wondering what is the best shim kit to buy for the install? I found one on Hotcams website but it was like $90 so I was wondering if there was anything a little less money?

Thanks
Shaun

The HC kit or buying individual shims at your Honda dealer are the only options I'm aware of.

Anyone know of any others?

Ya I dont even have a local dealer which is why I was hoping to buy a kit. Nearest one is 2 hours away and I dont want to get half way into the project and not have the right shims and have to order some and then have them mailed to me.

Just buy the kit you will need it sooner or later when you adjust your valves again.

Just some food for thought....

Hotcam shims are a soft metal with a hardened coating on them, where as the Honda shims are completely hardened.;)

Well its not really something that most recreational riders should be concerned with but there are people run DLC valves with heavy duty valve springs that wear out all valve train parts much more rapidly. Like I said... its just food for thought.

i run the hotcam shims and they do fine for me and i run the stage 2 cam to . i think the kit is $80 dollars at the most . if not cheaper . and the kit has got a good variety of shims. hope this helps.
