View Full Version : Cross threaded mounts Need Help ASAP

How can I fix crossthreaded mounts on my swingarm? There are two croos threaded mouts. Can I just redrill the holes a size up or do I need a whole new swingarm? Please Help me!:(

I would drill and tap before I bought another. If its only the first couple of threads that are crossed just drill to that point. I have been successful at this about 50% of the time, but if that dont work just finish drilling and tap.

So could I just drill the whole hole out. And what does"Tap" mean?

A tap is a special tool that actually cuts the threads in the hole. More detail here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taps_and_dies

you could install a heli-coil.
