Here is a few pics of my friends new Service Honda's SRX250R. It keeps up with a modded KFX450R and is 50 pounds lighter than the KFX. It's AMAZING :eek2:

Honda didn't actually make it. Service Honda makes a conversion kit for the 400EX turning it into a 250R. These pics are the real quad sold by Service Honda.

No, Service Honda (http://www.servicehonda.com/) is not part of Honda. They are just a very large Honda dealer. They make some cool stuff like the quad pictured above and the 500AF--an aluminum framed version of the CR500R that Honda no longer makes.

I've never heard anything bad about their machines. I know the 500AFs are very desireable and sought-after.

I know! I rode it the other day and boy is it fast, they claim it only weighs 310lbs dry weight. It handles superb for having stock front suspenders, usually the EX is heavy enough it over works the shocks and they start leaking fluid. Lighter is better in this case. The only thing I'm used to on the EX is the luggable power, you really have to rev this sucker to the moon for it to make awesome hp. NOW I JUST HAVE TO GET A VIDEO RECORDER! So you guys can see it in action.

That's plausible. Honda claims the EX engine weighs 91lbs dry and the CR engine 51lbs dry. So there's 40 lbs right there. Take 40 off the EX's claimed dry weight of 375 and you're at 335. Figure the stock EX oil tank and oil cooler is a wash with the SRX's radiator--if anything the aluminum rad is probably lighter. Figure the SRX's carb is lighter, the exhaust is lighter, no battery, probably lighter handlebars, and whatever other differences there are.....310 sounds optimistic but plausible.

Too bad Honda is very likely to never build something like this. They'd sell like hotcakes.

They only use 2001 Honda CR 250 R motors for it. If you want one Please check out there website. You can make one yourself also. I knew about them from Dirt Wheels article (2003-2004) plus other quad magazines also. They say 2001 Cr-250r is more powerful and more quad like too.
