Well we have a Honda cx500 at our house. Our problem is when you start the bike it revs up really high and when you give it gas it bogs down. Then carbs got all new jets and gaskets whats wrong?

My friend DT 400 did that. It was the gasket bewteen the reed cage and cyclinder. Make sure its seal. Just a little crack will do that

This is a 4 stroke motorcyle. Doesnt have a reed cage.

I thought it was a Big ole 2 stroke Dirt bike. Maybe the choke is stuck?

Sounds like an air leak somewhere....which is what firefighterjosh suggested. But it could be coming from anywhere. Check all the joints between the heads and the air filter, but especially between the heads and the carbs. Also make sure the carbs themselves are assembled properly and they are not sucking air from somewhere they shouldn't be.

FWIW, the CX500 engine is considered by some to be one of the more durable motorcycle engines ever built.

I think you can spray carb cleaner around all the gaskets. If its leaking in air, the spray will add fuel and cause the engine to rev up more. This can help you locate the air leak.

yea, when it revs up real high like that, that's usually a sign that it's running lean, then out of gas. Also, check the carb boot and where the carb connects to the reeds and cylinder. Definitly sounds like an air leak somewhere.
