just wondering, i got a clymer manual today, and im doing a hot cam stage 1 install and i need to get my motor to TDC, thanks for the help.

(also the manual doesn't say anything about getting it to TDC)

Look at pages 72-75, specifically page 74.

Unless the manual has been updated....

TDC should be easy to do. the way i did it, you remove the small hex plug near the flywheel (the smaller plug twards the top)

to get it to TDC you can tap the shifter till you hit 5th gear and support the rear wheels off the ground. slowly turn the rear wheels by hand till you see the "T" mark line up with the notch on the case directly in the place of the plug you removed. the mark should resemble this> ||- or something similar. you get the point... youll know you have TDC cus it will get harder to turn the wheels as it will hit the compression stroke.

once you do that, take your valve cover off and have at it. (you can double check you are at TDC by taking one of the valve cap covers off the valve cover and feel the rocker for the slack. if it dont, repeat the steps above till you come agross it one more time.
