View Full Version : 07 450er problem starting

I just had an HRC kit put on my bike. It did fine for an hour or so of riding but after that when it would stall or die it took an act of god to get it started. It was like it wasnt taking the gas. I know not to gas it when starting it. i even tried choking it but it didnt seem to help. Is this a pretty common problem or should i have it checked out?

that doesnt sound very common to me. Personally I dont know what might be wrong with it but I would possibly turn up your idle or just take it somewhere to get it looked at.

my 07 has always been a lil difficult to start since the day I got it. I almost always have to choke it and its really tough when its hot. i think honda could do a lot better job on their starter.

you need to go up the slow jet one or two sizes. richin it up and it fire up everytime. they run these bikes to lean for the emission regulation. lean motors are hard to start. the hell with emission.:D

Sounds like a valve clearance issue to me!

If you are getting gas from the tank to the carb, then to the motor, chances are rare that it is a jetting issue!

If it is a jetting issue, you should be experience lots of kickback in a lean or rich pilot circuit!

Just my 2 yen (asian denomination of $$$$)!

mine use to do it after a drag race, it would just die and wouldnt start forever (I would pull start it and it would fire up) after I got it to start I could turn it off and it would start right up with the button, I turned the idle up and made sure I keep the battery charged. (seems if it dont have a full charge it wont spin the motor quick enough to make it take off)

it hasnt done it for a year now
