its a 87 quadsport and its doing just as the title says. The chain is real loose when standing or no ones on the quad and its chewing up the swing arm, when i sit on the quad the chain tightens up to exactly where it should be. also the chain pops off every time i give it some hard throttle. any help is appreciated.

Tighten it alil more. Your chain may be really really wore out or something. Get a new chain & sprocket kit and start from there if you can't get it to quit coming off.

Your chain guide on the top pic is wore smooth out. You need to get a new chain guide, new sprocket&chain kit and be done with it.

the chain will always get loose then tight again as you go thru the travel. its because the sprockets arent on the same arc as the swingarm pivot and axle
