I would make sure the oil is compatible with a wet clutch set up. If I was you, Id buy the honda synthetic blend like HP4M or HP4

I have run Mobil 1 15w 50 in both my 400ex and YFZ 450 for years and it works great!

Yes Mobil 1 15w50 is fine. I ran it for a couple years. I just run regular Valvoline 10w30 and 10w40 in everything I own now (in my signature), and never had an oil related problem to date.

i run castrol 20w-50 year round... sc norm pretty warm if its cold il run 10w-40. Mobil uno should b fine. Synthetic is 4 ppl who don't know how to do reg. matinence imo, but if you are one to forget changing it i would rec. syn. oil.

synthetic oil is for people who want superior protection for their engine than what a dino oil can provide, not for people who are lazy about maintenance

I'd agree with Dill. I run Ams Oil synthetic, and I still change oil regulary.

imo, (you know what they say about opinons... but make of it what you will) Synthetics as it states on the bottle last longer than fossil, and do protect better in most cases(not all) what i mean by not all is when you are running 6k-8k rpms the oil is just not going to have that great a difference my friend had the same opinion about syn in his 450r he read temps off the base stock oil and synthetic and the temperatures varied by less than on degree. I have run syn and have nothing against running it it works just the same. I just don't understand the use in it if you are planing on changing your oil in 10-15hrs anyways. If you don't have the time that is when i think synthetics really shine. Where as my machine in most cases would lock up. (maybe not that drastic...but none the less)

Again this is my opinion. Take it for what you will. If you don't like it that is fine we are all intitled to our opinon and preference. I also don't want to start a huge debate and will probably not vist this thread again...(thanks to my email blocker... only lets thread replies through once).

You do realize that most synthetics on the market are Group III Dino Oil.

And even a PAO Syn is derived From regular mineral base oil.
