Duponster Injured at VMP

I was told this afternoon that Duponster was injured today at VMP during practice and I would like to wish him a speedy recovery! I was told he crashed in the whoop section and broke his tib and fib. Also he had surgury and they installed a rod in his leg.

6 to 8 weeks and youll be able to ride again.....and after a year you should be able to get the rods out of your leg....

I broke my femur and had the same thing done....:(

I know the pain of tib fib breaks .... take the time to let it heal properly , or else you'll end up with pain for a LONG time .

Lil Dup is now the proud owner of four screws and a rod, all made of titanium.... I saw him in recovery about 20 min after surgery and he was pretty groggy. He should be ok... On the other hand, it's gonna be awful watching 20 pros go into the 1st turn after the start.. VMP has an awesome facility, but the track is way too narrow for a national event.....

Thats sad to hear. Heal fast man. Ive been there and it hurts like hell for the first two weeks!! Its been almost two years and mine is still sore. It actually hurts like hell right now because of a rough landing yesterday. But give it 6 weeks n ull be limping around. Drink ur milk!

The Dr told us it'll be 5-6 weeks before he can put any weight on it... Pappy, just so you know, while he was waiting to go into surgery, and under the influence of some morphine, he was picking out his colors for the rebuild.....

i knew something was wrong when i didnt see you out there at the 3rd practice and on. Thats when gary told me what happened. Crazy that you tried the double tripple, lol, but just sucks cuz you are such a good rider. Ill see you back out there sooner or later. Take care

Pops here....Just want to thank everyone for the kind words...Yesterday was one long damn day....I didn't get home until almost 1AM this morning....Now I have to feed the dogs clean up a little and go back down....Like Twisted said, he got a new rod and some real purty screws....I have pictures to prove it...He was in surgery for about 3 hrs...He's not too happy with himself because he thought he made a dumb mistake that put him out for the year..He knows that it will be a while and I think he'll let it heal up good before he tries anything...Don't really have any new news....I'll keep everyone posted as I find out stuff...

Like others have stated next weekend is probably going to be a joke unless they make major changes to make the track better. It's crazy how a track can have that nice of a facilty and be run so poorly.

haha i agree with you JT. I was talking to Cole Henry(#11 blue/yellor blaster) and he is good friends with the owner of VMP and he said he has no clue what to do to suit the pros next weekend. Cole gave him a list of ideas, but idk what the owner is going to do. Right before the finish line, that corner is maybe 10yds wide, if that, its just more of a dirtbike track than a quad track. btw jt, hell of a race yesterday man!

I hope you guys are not expecting any changes at VMP for next weekend. I have said from the 1st time I heard about the wpsa coming to VMP is that they have gotten in over there head. I raced the very 1st race at VMP and it has changed ownership twice and it is still the same.

Quad wasn't hurt at all. The only thing wrong with it, is the tire tread is dirty, that's it... Just got word that he'll be home tomorrow. He's in right much pain, which is understandable, but ok.. No more Morphine, just Vicodin.....

Just left him a while ago....I finally got home about 8:30 and his Mom called me and said he did get another "good night" shot of Morphine...They wouldn't give him any today because it makes him sleep and if he slept all day it would be a long night....Thanks again everyone for the kind words....Pretty sharp little night time nurse taking care of him though....I thought she was anyway....All he cares about right now is getting home...I want him home too...These 2 1/2 to 3 hr one way trips to Petersburg are getting old...Hopefully he'll be coming home tomorrow....

I am not sure what pain medicine he will be coming home with, but hopefully it will be better than what I had. Well from the doctors anyway. Friends hooked me up with 5mg percecets that helped alot.
Also he will need to be a reporter on here because being hurt is boring, he won't miss a post. Also Glad to here he is doing ok. And I agree with Jerry on the pics.

If he gets the same medicine #61 got watch out! He changed the rear shock on the quad at budds creek last year in 5mins. it was an amazing thing to see.

It's a double header, which means each day, ther're racing for the $$$$. Either day will be good, but if I were you, I'd try and make it on Saturday to atleast see everybody. I got a bad feeling about the start....
