right now i'm more worried about getting it running...i fired it up at home yesterday, it ran fine...i warmed it up, got some fresh oil flowing through it then shut it down. I stopped by a friends, fired it up quick for him then shut it down.....then i went to a sand pit where i was going to test it out and it wouldnt start! every once in a while it would fire quick after it would sit for a few minutes but it wouldnt stay running...of course there had to be 5 guys there that were impressed with how it looked, but i couldnt get it to run...did i feel like an ***...i'm thinking it flooded out, but i didnt bring a plug wrench (only tool i didnt have) so i couldnt check the plug or anything.

are these type of hybrids usually fast?

I'd say comparable to a 400ex, but i think they handle better. i plan on a 425 kit, cam, head work over the winter.

they built these hybrids back in the late 90's before the 400ex came out. Thats why i call it oldschool...if i wanted to build a fast hybrid i'd be looking for a crf motor to put in the frame.

yea i was just wondering what it could compeat with because i was watching this quad movie the other day from the 90's and i saw them 350x hybrids and i didnt know how fast they were. but if it can compeat with a 400ex i'd say they are pretty sweet. from the looks of it it looks pretty fast.

that thing is SICK.

i can really appreciate it considering these quads were being built up before i was walking. i'd rather see that than a crf450 hybrid any day.

good job on it, id keep it plain for the oldschool look but thats not a big deal...itd look ill either way

The boys is now 11 years old and still desert racing it. The bike now has a yz250f motor.

holy crap time flys....and i love the new upgrade....how does the power compare to the old 350x motor? I'm sure its got to be a sweet setup in that quad!

it's super light compared to the the 350x and according to the specs it is only about 5hp less than my 04 yfz450! but not the same torque. we really like it , but i'm sure we will miss the reliability of the 350x. i posted pics of the build on this forum also.
