Whats the proper way to break in a new piston & cam

What is the proper method to break in a new piston (Venom 12.25:1 stock bore) and Hot Cam II

Start it up, let it warm up for about 30 seconds to a minute on fast idle, then ride it for a couple minute--be sure to vary rpm and don't be afraid to rev it up (not to the rev limiter--use your best judgement). Let the machine cool completely. And do it all over again, then change the oil.

After the oil change, ride it for about ten minutes, then let it completely cool. IMO--change the oil atleast twice within the first hour of riding with the new engine.
