I just got a used 440ex a few weeks ago. the guy i got it from said it had +2 a arms. I measurred them at about 50 inches and the rear at 51inches. I was wondering what the standard width of stock 400 would be. I think I got burned but maybey not. Also the guy says its got a 450r swingarm on it. can you put one on a 440 chassie?? If so would it make a difference in the chain link count? thanks for the help Steve

The stock width is about 46", so your quad must have offset rims or maybe the A-arms +3, not +2.

duh lol he said the front is 50 wide, if stock is 46....you add 2 inch for the right and 2 for the ldft, that makes it 50....you didnt get ripped off man trust me that sounds right

Oh! I'm mistaken. I always thought +2 would add 1" on both sides to get 2. I'm sorry. I guess we've got that cleared up. You learn something new everyday!

ok ok the jokes on me . Its been a while since I had a quad just making sure. kev the quad runs great Xept for the oil leak, Its fast as anything i rode and I HAVENT GOT IT out of 3rd gear yet. didnt mean to say anything bad about you I just wanted to ake sure you know. I really cant wait to get out therer and smoke all the 450rs out there but I want to put a new shorty pipe on the quad, If anyone has one its a sparks and what a new one

Actually if you measure correctly it measures 52 inches in the front because the rims are offset, but the a-arms are +2.... why are you getting new pipe, let me know if you want to sell me that one!!!!! I was unaware of the oil leak where is it coming from???

the oil is coming from the topend top case. then it drips off of the headder and the sparkplug wire. I went to change the gasket and one of the 12 bolts is missing and a second is stripped so it wont tighten. I think thats the problem cause it right by the leak. I must have measured wrong I just measured the tops of the front tires. I dont know why I want a new pipe It works fine I just want one.
